Aminata is a senior at Columbia Secondary School. She loves to cook, travel, and enjoy quality time with her friends and family. All her life, she has thought about making a difference in the world around her from joining multiple summer programs, to being a strong leader in school. Girls Write Now gave Aminita the ability to think beyond the lines of a pen and paper and is empowered to write as a Senegalese-American female. As a senior going off to college, GWN enabled Aminata to go beyond her comfort zone and be herself through writing.

Margaret Meehan is an editor, writer, and content consultant, having worked for such publications and brands as Teen Vogue, Bloomingdale's, and Moda Operandi. Most recently, Margaret was International Editor at ASOS, and her essays have appeared in The New York Times and Salon.com. Margaret is currently an MFA candidate in Fiction at Columbia University.
