Teresa Mettela is currently a senior at Townsend Harris High School. She joined her school’s robotics team, the Steel Hawks, and now she occupies the position of Social Media Director on the executive board. Recently, she has been involved in her school newspaper, The Classic. As a returning GWN mentee, she has found a space that has allowed her to explore different areas of writing with the help of her beautiful mentor, Christy. Her latest project, inspired by the gender norms placed on Indian-American girls, won a Silver Medal for the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. In the future, she plans to expand on her passion for writing in her undergraduate career.
